The following photographs were taken during Blackwater dives in West Palm Beach, Florida. These drift dives take place at night in the Gulf Stream currents offshore of Southeast Florida at depths of up to 100ft, but where the bottom of the ocean can reach 800ft. This rarely explored ocean environment is a haven for numerous deep sea creatures as well as countless reef fish, primarily in their larval stage, who are drifting in the ocean’s gyres or migrating from deep water.
