Seahorse reproduction is as unique and elegant as the animal. With their tails entwined, they rise and fall in the water column in their courtship dance. The female will signal to the male her readiness to transfer hers eggs by tipping her head upwards. Courting in some seahorses has been observed to last up to seven hours.
