Many fish appear to learn certain feeding behaviors from an association with other sea creatures. Fish like this adult Spanish hogfish will stay near a foraging sea turtle in order to get any discarded scraps. I have even observed porkfish hover below a diver in order to charge in at a sergeant major’s nest when a diver approaches too closely scaring away the sergeant major.
