Colossal squid

While not reaching the lengths of the giant squid (Architeuthis dux), the colossal squid (Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni) is larger in mass. It is believed to weigh up to 1,500lbs. making it the largest-known invertebrate. While this 4in. squid might not be the colossal squid it sure posed like one during one of my deep water night dives.
