Larval soapfish

Measuring in at less than 2cm this is the larval stage of the soapfish. This denizen of the coral reefs is known to release a toxic mucus when stressed that repels predators. As adults they have the unusual behavior of resting on the ocean bottom appearing to look lifeless.
