Throughout my years volunteering with sea turtle organizations and scientists I have observed distinctive swimming behaviors in individual hatchlings even of the same species. Some baby sea turtles, such as this green, will swim just under the surface stopping more often to take a breath. Whereas other baby sea turtles will dive down a couple of feet and travel long distances before coming up for a breath.
