Colors and patterns serve numerous purposes in fish. Some of these include as camouflage, to warn predators, for mating, and communication. This juvenile French angelfish (~3cm) uses these bold color stripes, which it will lose as it matures, as perhaps a means of signalling to larger fish of its very active symbiotic behavior capabilities.
