Uncommon leucistic loggerhead sea turtle hatchling

Here is something a little extra special! If you have seen some of my other photographs of loggerhead sea turtle hatchlings you’ll recognize this little one looks a little different. That reason is because she is leucistic — a rare condition which causes a reduction in the pigmentation of the skin. Unlike albinism, leucistic animals still have pigmentation in their eyes. In all my years as a sea turtle volunteer I have only seen this condition twice.
